New ground source heat pumps are to be installed at a number of homes in Ceredigion, Wales.
Properties to receive the renewable technology are off-grid. The heat pumps are reportedly being installed in a bid to reduce the country’s carbon emissions.
The project is being led by the housing association Tai Ceredigion Homes and E.ON’s Sustainable Energy who are to install the heating systems.
Approximately 41 homes will receive the systems, which is expected to save around £4,000 in annual energy bills for all residents, and save more than 67 tonnes of carbon a year.
This low carbon heating project is part of a £40 million investment programme in the region of Wales.
Along with new ground source heat pumps, residents involved in the scheme will also get wet radiator internal heating systems, as well as solar photovoltaic panels.
