Home heating resource Boiler Guide has launched a new tool to compare boiler and central heating cover products from leading brands.
The new tool features insurance products from the biggest providers on the market including Scottish Power, British Gas and 24|7 Home Rescue. Not only does it include the standard prices offered by these suppliers, but also any current offers and discounts to ensure that homeowners get the best deal on their boiler cover.
Choosing the correct type and level of heating cover can be a tricky task with so many different packages available. The tool offers an option to filter by boiler cover only, boiler and central heating cover or boiler, heating, plumbing & electrical cover. There is also an option to filter by supplier and even adjust the level of excess per call out to find the perfectly tailored package.
Unlike other insurance comparison tools, Boiler Guide won’t ask homeowners for any personal details – it’s simply a case of choosing a plan and going direct to the provider’s website.
Why take out boiler cover?
The average boiler repair comes in at £314, a cost many homeowners aren’t prepared for. A recent survey asked homeowners how they would pay a repair bill of £300 if they faced a winter breakdown and only 34% of respondents said they had this money set aside for an emergency like this, with 11% saying they would have to pay it on credit card.
Taking out boiler insurance is one way to avoid these potentially high repair costs. Not only that but many packages offer a yearly boiler service as part of the price, meaning boiler problems can often be spotted early. This service is carried out by a Gas Safe engineer, who will also be able to check that you are not at risk from carbon monoxide – giving you further peace of mind throughout the year.
